About the Interactive Education Project

The Interactive Education Project is a digital initiative by the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage (TCCH) focused on preserving and sharing the cultural heritage of Cyprus. Funded by the United States Department of State and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), this project showcases TCCH efforts through an innovative web-based learning environment. It introduces the cultural heritage of Cyprus, raises awareness, highlights shared cultural elements, and emphasizes the importance of their protection.

The experiential learning platform features cartoon characters Ali and Maria, who guide users through historical sites, engaging them in interactive explorations and exercises. By touring traditional structures, users learn about century-old professions and the everyday life of Cypriots from those times. By providing access to various heritage sites, the initiative fosters intergenerational communication and encourages youth participation in preserving Cyprus’s shared cultural legacy. Supported by the TCCH, the U.S. Department of State, and the UNDP, the Interactive Education Project is making history accessible to all.
